United Nations bars four N.Korean ships from global ports: diplomats

China has been caught red-handed illegally selling oil to North Korea, thanks to US spy satellites, which captured images of the deals roughly 30 times since October.

Other US officials say there are very initial indications that North Korea is moving equipment around that could be in preparation for another satellite or missile launch.

One picture, reportedly taken on October 19, shows a ship called Ryesonggang 1 connected to a Chinese vessel, South Korean media reports.

President Donald Trump is reminding the world that he's long warned about the dangers posed by North Korea's nuclear program.

Trump's key to North Korea, however, has always been China and his personal relationship with Xi.

Trump said on Twitter Thursday that China had been "Caught RED HANDED", adding he was "very disappointed that China is allowing oil to go into North Korea". That report was picked up by some US media outlets, including Fox News.

In recent months, Trump's administration has praised Beijing for its efforts to tame North Korea.

Last week, the Security Council unanimously approved tighter sanctions on North Korea, including measures to slash imports of refined petroleum products by nearly 90 percent from January, as well as further restrict shipping and imposing a 24-month deadline for expatriate North Korean workers to be sent home.

The UN resolution seeks to ban almost 90 per cent of refined petroleum exports to North Korea by capping them at 500,000 barrels a year. Just two weeks ago, Trump credited China for its help in the US -led pressure campaign against Pyongyang, including support for three U.N. Security Council resolutions this year - the latest last week - over the North's nuclear and missile tests.

North Korea was barred in September by the United Nations Security Council from importing natural gas and had its crude oil imports capped in response to Kim Jong Un's nuclear missile program.

China has repeatedly said it is fully enforcing all resolutions against North Korea, despite suspicion in Washington, Seoul and Tokyo that loopholes still exist.

A ministry spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, said Wednesday she had no information about the latest report.
