Echo Dot tops Amazon's holiday sales season

Interestingly, customers purchased twice as many Fire TV sticks than last year's holiday season, underscoring the growing interest in streaming content (and perhaps cutting the cord).

Over 4M people started Prime trials (free or paid) in one week.

Amazon's strong holiday season is likely to keep many investors excited over its future prospects.

A Google spokesperson made a statement regarding its battle with Amazon stating that since Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, nor does it make Prime Video available for GoogleCast users, Google is no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and FireTV, 'given this lack of reciprocity'.

This was Amazon's biggest holiday season to date, "with customers all around the world shopping at record levels", the company said in a press release.

State's jobless rate 4.5%
In November of 2016 there were approximately 542 people unemployed in the county, for this year the number was 448. Professional and business services gained the most jobs, while government lost jobs.

As to which products moved the needle, Amazon's Echo Dot and the Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote were the best selling products across every category, an impressive feat to say the least. Companies continue to handle their own packaging, shipping and customer service.

Customers shopped hundreds of Deals of the Day on Amazon.com throughout the holiday season.

Since Thanksgiving, over a billion items were ordered from Amazon. The Echo Dot was the best-selling among the company's devices. The East Coast of the USA requested holiday music from Alexa 250% more than the West Coast did. The most popular item viewed with AR view throughout this holiday season was a black chair with ottoman.

Music listening time on Alexa was 3x as much this holiday season compared to last holiday season. This holiday season, Amazon sales are expected to account for more than half of all online shopping sales - a sign that the e-tailer remains a top choice among consumers. Amazon said more than 1,400 electronics products were ordered per second on a mobile device.
