Israel arrests Palestinian teen who forced them off her land

A Palestinian teenager who was filmed slapping and harassing Israeli soldiers in the West Bank was arrested. It does not show any serious harm caused to the soldiers.

The army said that the soldiers "acted professionally and were not dragged into violence", though they could have arrested the girls.

PNN reporter said that the occupation arrested Tamimi, while she was in front of "Benyamin" Israeli police station north of Ramallah, where she was heading to know the fate of her daughter.

The video has been used by the Israeli army to prove to the world that their soldiers exercise restraint, but the women's arrest in the middle of the night has been criticized by Palestinian activists.

Israeli Education Minister Naftali Bennett told Army Radio this morning that he believed the young girls in the video "should finish their lives in prison". The Israeli soldiers beat the occupants of the house and took the cameras that documented the brutality of the Israeli soldiers during their suppression of the protests in the village over several years.

Her father claims the video was filmed immediately after Israeli forces fired tear-gas canisters at their home.

The army had also posted that "It was wrong not to arrest her immediately, because she tried to block the soldiers' mission".

The 14-year-old boy, who protested against Trump's announcement of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, was placed into a medically-induced coma. Ahed and her mother manager to pull the soldier of her brother and free him.

Ahed al-Tamimi's arrest is the latest of over 450 Palestinians detained since 6 December.

Tamimi, who has been nicknamed "Shirley Temper" for her blonde curls and fearless stance against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, was last reported as being questioned by Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service.

In a short documentary, Ahed said that her dream is to become a football player, describing the difficulty she faces at the Israeli checkpoint when she wants to get to school.

Nariman was attempting to seek information about her 17-year-old daughter Ahed, who was arrested from their home in the village of Nabi Saleh hours earlier.
