Facebook asks users to send nude pictures

Before submitting the pictures, users will have to fill out a form in the office of Australia's eSafety commissioner about their concerns, which is then sent to Facebook. The social media platform will then create a unique "digital fingerprint" of the intimate image in an effort to stop any copies of those images from being uploaded to either Facebook or Instagram by either a disgruntled lover or a hacker. Users then send the posts to themselves over Facebook's Messenger app.

Facebook is working with an Australian government agency on the project.

Now the Facebook's new way to tackle revenge porn is going to be tested only in Australia although a Facebook spokesperson told the Guardian that it is exploring partnerships with other organisations in other countries to test something similar. The social media platform wants its members to preemptively upload their nude and intimate pictures to Facebook for safe-keeping.

"Facebook is very hard as well because they don't provide you with a direct line of communication like Google Legal does", he continued. If Facebook has the photos, it can specifically recognize and instantly block them if they turn up elsewhere on Facebook, Messenger, or even Instagram.

"We have a great deal of comfort that they have chosen the most secure route", she said.

The Alliance will set foot on Kul'Tiras archipelago, and the Horde will wade through jungle terrain in Zandalar . That packs in two new continents, a new level cap, and other features.

Australia is one of four countries participating in the Facebook pilot program, Antigone Davis, Facebook's head of global security told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Facebook says it is not storing the photos, just the hashes of the photos.

However, the trial won't completely solve Australia's revenge porn woes, Clare McGlynn, an expert from Durham Law School, told BBC.

"This pilot has the potential to disable the control and power perpetrators hold over victims, particularly in cases of ex-partner retribution and sextortion, and the subsequent harm that could come to them", said Inman Grant. Once they have sent the image, Facebook's technology would "hash" or create a digital fingerprint of it. However, a May report indicated that the social network was "flooded" with cases of revenge porn and sextortion, with almost 54,000 cases of the crime reported in just a month; 33 of which involved children.
