Emojis spark furious Twitter debate: Where does the cheese go?

"I think we need to have a discussion about how Google's burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top", he tweeted, along with a photo of the two different-looking cheeseburgers.

To put it in perspective, Apple, Facebook, and Samsung are among just some of the companies to place the cheese on top of the patty. Many of us might find the debate insignificant or even frivolous, but Google chief executive Sundar Pichai is dropping everything else to focus on the issue today.

Now, people across the internet are asking, "What's the correct way to dress a burger?"

Although there may not be a "right" way to assemble a cheeseburger, some Twitter users believe Microsoft's depiction of the emoji was the most accurate. That's why this latest controversy surrounding Google's cheeseburger emoji, of all things, has been rather baffling.

Raiders stun Chiefs with last second touchdown in Thursday night thriller
Facing 3rd-and-10 on the Chiefs' 43-yard line, the Raiders lined up in an empty-set formation with Lynch on the sidelines. Alex Smith threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs lost their second straight game after a 5-0 start.

The discussion gathered a lot of attention on Twitter and many other social media platforms, with Pichai receiving around 10,000 retweets by twitter users. Does the cheese always go on top of the patty, to make sure it gets a nice melt? Customarily, the cheese slice is always kept over the patty.

According to a report from The Verge, Google seems to be the only one who has got the design wrong.

Google is the odd emoji out. The company is launching its flagship Pixel 2 smart phone, teaching supercomputers how to play board games, developing self-driving cars, delivering Wi-Fi from weather balloons - and doing all the other Google stuff, like running YouTube and Gmail and Search.

Let's hope Google execs don't have plans to dive into the restaurant business anytime soon.
