Raiders stun Chiefs with last second touchdown in Thursday night thriller

The Raiders thought they had the lead when a Jared Cook catch was ruled a touchdown with 18 seconds left, but replay overturned the call marking him down at the 1. And Cordarrelle Patterson's inability to wrangle a pass before stepping out of the back of the endzone was bailed out by Eric Murray's defensive holding on a first un-timed down.

It was an AFC West battle the Raiders had to absolutely win if they harbored any real ideas about both contending in the division and advancing to the postseason for a second straight year, but how victory arrived was the stuff of fiction.

Carr finished 29 for 52 for 417 yards and three touchdowns, with Amari Cooper catching 11 passes for 210 yards and two of the scores. Oakland still doesn't have an interception and surrendered some humiliating touchdowns to Smith and the Chiefs. They trailed 30-21 after three quarters.

It did so without Lynch, the starting running back ejected in the second quarter when he ran onto the field after Carr was hit late by Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters. Lynch congratulated his teammates in the locker room after the game but didn't speak to reporters.

Facing 3rd-and-10 on the Chiefs' 43-yard line, the Raiders lined up in an empty-set formation with Lynch on the sidelines.

Giorgio Tavecchio booted the extra point in front of a crowd of 55,100 at the Oakland Coliseum stadium.

Joel Embiid calls minutes restriction 'f***ing bulls***'
With the minutes restriction in place, Embiid concedes that Brown has a tough job in figuring out when to use him in a game. John Wall, a perennial All-Star, Beal are the 1-2 punch in the backcourt Fultz and Simmons hope they can become.

The 31-year-old Pro Bowler, who came out of retirement in April to sign with Oakland, has rushed for 257 yards and two touchdowns on 70 carries this season.

Carr led the Raiders on an 85-yard drive in the final 2:25 to give the Raiders a win.

Alex Smith threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs lost their second straight game after a 5-0 start. With time up, the Chiefs were hit with a penalty for pass interference.

Like Kansas City's struggles slowing Cooper, the Raiders couldn't reel in the lightning quick Tyreek Hill, who piled up 125 yards on six catches, including a 64-yard score.

With all the offense, however, the game swung on one of the few big defensive plays. However, Jack Del Rio was able to keep his team focused, and Derek Carr was allowed to work his way back and win the game with a fantastic drive at the end.
