Sheikh Hasina seeks United Kingdom support to resolve Rohingya crisis

An average of 2,000 Rohingya cross the border everyday for safety making refugee situation in south-eastern Bangladeshi district of Cox's Bazar more complex, according to a statement issued by International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The rebels launched coordinated attacks on about 30 security posts and an army camp on August 25 with the help of hundreds of disaffected Rohingya villagers, many wielding sticks or machetes, killing about a dozen people.

After the completion of the new camp, covering an area of about three thousand acres, it will be the world's largest, bigger than Bidi Bidi in Uganda and Dadaab in Kenya.

The home minister said the Sheikh Hasina administration had set up camps to record Rohingya refugees' bio-metric data. That's why more land is needed. Jewel's father, Babul Hossain, told the French news agency, AFP.

The sheer numbers of new arrivals have led to unsafe congestion in the existing settlements.

More than 500,000 Rohingya have crossed over to Bangladesh since late August. The United Nations has praised Bangladesh's "extraordinary spirit of generosity" in opening up its borders.

Mourinho: Rampant Manchester United can still do better
They will be taking on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday, who are now languishing at the last position in the table.

"The access we have in northern Rakhine state is unacceptable", Mark Lowcock, the head of the UN's humanitarian office, said in Geneva, Switzerland, this week.

At the request of the government of Bangladesh, IOM is hosting the Inter Sector Coordination Group, which is coordinating the work of aid agencies responding to the humanitarian crisis triggered by the influx. Rohingya who have made it to Bangladesh allege the spurt in arrivals follows a new campaign of intimidation by Myanmar's army in parts of Rakhine which were still home to Muslim communities.

The Rohingya muslims are one of the minorities of Burma, a majority buddhist.

Accusing "ARSA extremist terrorist" Einu, the statement said he had been "urging people to run" from Rohingya villages to Bangladesh.

In recent weeks, more than a half-million Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar, where they face human rights violations and discrimination that a number of lawmakers and worldwide organizations have qualified as ethnic cleansing. Bangladesh has made the journey even more hard with a clampdown on boats running refugees across the Naf river that separates the two countries.
