2 officers shot by man in New Haven

A La Verne police officer was injured and a suspect was shot and wounded during an altercation early Saturday, authorities said.

The video, posted on Facebook and YouTube, shows the man in a physical confrontation with a Huntington Beach police officer outside of a 7-Eleven Friday morning in the beach city. That officer returned fire, hitting Burke. The officer then determined the item in the man's hand was not a weapon. He also wounded a second officer who came to help.

The 2400 block of Foothill Boulevard in La Verne, where a police shooting occurred on September 23, 2017, is shown in a Google Maps Street View image from December 2016. After attempts to convince Monroe to leave the house failed, officers entered and located him in the basement.

US Navy to Use Xbox Controllers Aboard Submarines
More modern submarines use photonic based periscopes that have mast-mounted digital cameras to provide a surface view. And then someone apparently suggested using an Xbox 360 controller instead.

The man did not drop the object when ordered to and continued approaching the officer, who fired "at least one round" at the man.

The officers first responded to the neighbor's house and arranged for the victim to be taken to the hospital. But the Taser proved ineffective, according to Moore.

He then, "reached toward his rear waistband area and made a threatening statement, which led the officer to believe the male adult was arming himself". Officers Eric Pasino and Scott Shumway were each shot once, and the unidentified woman was shot several times, Hartman said. The man's condition wasn't known. The investigation remains ongoing, he added.
