Gmail Introduces New Feature To Transform Addresses And Contact Numbers Into Links

In a post on the G Suite Updates blog, Google has announced that they'll be making addresses, numbers, and contact information in emails received on either platforms clickable. Just as URLs are automatically converted into clickable links, so the same luxury is to be lavished on addresses, phone numbers and contacts. While the update now applies only to users in the U.S., Google plans to expand the offering to "more languages and locales soon". With the new feature enabled, when you click an address that is displayed as a hyperlink, you automatically go to Google Maps where you can get directions from your current location to the address. Google doesn't specify what the phone number will do on a desktop-possibly launch the Hangouts dialer? Clicking on it will open that address in Google Maps. In fact, until now, it was necessary to select, copy and then paste the phone numbers or addresses. "Precious time can be lost by having to copy and paste this information from an email into other apps and websites, so we wanted to provide a better way to perform these tasks that also saves time". But now finally Google came up with this added feature today.

The new feature has been integrated into both iOS and Android apps.

Priyanka Chopra dazzles in white at 2017 Emmy Awards
Chopra's gown was embellished with sequins in a pattern that looked surprisingly inspired by an Indian motif. A chunky hemline at the neck and armholes gave Chopra's outfit the exact amount of attention it deserved.

As you can see above, the address has become tappable.

Addresses and phone numbers will be appearing as hyperlinks whether you are using an iOS or Android on mobile or on the web on your computer. This, in turn, begs the question as to why Google took so long to roll out such a feature that could save its users time and frustration.
