Graham's Final Warning: Repeal Obamacare or Get 'Full-Blown Single-Payer Socialism'

Lindsey Graham of SC and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana to replace the Affordable Care Act's insurance subsidies with block grants to states, which would decide how to help people get health coverage.

The Democratic leader, Sen. House Speaker Paul Ryan last week tweeted his appreciation to Graham and Cassidy and some members of the Freedom Caucus conservative group have praised the bill. This bill re-introduces policies that gut protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions and no longer requires insurers to provide essential service coverage.

Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act may still be alive: Sen.

"Why did Obamacare fail?"

On Sunday, McCain repeated his view that a health plan needs to go through the committee process and gain bipartisan support - both of which are unlikely with the clock ticking and Democrats united against an Obamacare replacement. "That's not the way to do it". If you get a cold, your insurance rates could increase if you go to the doctor. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska and John McCain, R-Ariz. It would also decrease funding for Medicaid in the future.

The health care plan, which originated from Cassidy and Sen. If the Senate does not vote by the end of next week, it will become almost impossible to repeal the law because the drive to kill the Affordable Care Act will lose the procedural protections that allow it to pass the Senate with a simple majority, rather than the 60 votes that would otherwise be needed. "No thanks." Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., is chief co-sponsor. The Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has told them he will find time for it on the Senate floor if they can muster 50 votes, which would ensure passage with Vice President Mike Pence on hand to break a tie.

She did indicate she would have to make sure there would be enough money in the new block grants in the bill.

In Broward County, more than 212,000 electricity accounts were without power Thursday morning, state officials said. Long before this past week, however, the facility had a history of poor inspections.

The new element is a block grant.

Democrats warned that the bill would be very costly for some states and urged the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to study more than the measure's effect on the federal budget.

Despite Graham's rosy presentation, the bill would have numerous same effects as earlier attempts to repeal and replace would have, as states could raise premiums when and however they chose. Our estimates is that this will be a $1.2 Billion cut to Virginia's Medicaid program. But it's precisely because so many people assume that the threat is behind us, and have turned their attention elsewhere, that health care is once again in danger. States would receive a per-beneficiary allotment of federal money. For instance, the last Senate version of a healthcare bill would have left an estimated 22 million fewer Americans without health insurance, just one million people fewer than the House's version of the bill. It is hard for any state to be sure how much it would receive. In effect, the CBPP concluded that this plan would largely redirect money from states that expanded Medicaid to states that didn't.

"It's either this or we're going to Obamacare and Bernie-Care", Graham said, speaking to Breitbart. "That is frankly not fair". By 2026, the per-beneficiary amount for each state would be within 10 percent of the national average.

"There is tremendous flexibility for states under Cassidy-Graham, but also tremendous responsibility".

At this point, Republicans in both the House and the Senate have supported proposals that could prove devastating for their state.

Cassidy played down that concern. Their attacks on the Affordable Care Act were always based on lies, and they have never come up with a decent alternative.
