Dreamers Protest Pelosi Over Trump Deal: 'We Are Not Your Bargaining Chip'

The group of young USA residents in the country illegally and their supporters carried signs and shouted things like, "Shut down ICE" and "You're a liar" at Pelosi and the other lawmakers taking part in the event.

The Democratic leader was barely able to speak over the chorus of chants Monday, including shouts of "undocumented and unafraid".

Before activists interrupted her, Pelosi said any deal entered into by the Democrats should include an avenue for immigrants brought to the USA before turning 16 to stay permanently, ideally through a path to citizenship.

After meeting with Trump last week, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said they had come to a loose agreement to support the Dream Act along with border security measures, although not a wall.

Protesters accused Pelosi and other democrats of deporting undocumented immigrants, asking for protection for 11 million undocumented immigrants across the country. ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Nuclear quagmire: Sanctions illegal and evil, says North Korea
The latest threat, which is expected to heighten tensions in the Pacific came in a statement issued by the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

"You don't know what you're taking about", a visibly upset Pelosi responded. Many of those so-called Dreamers are set to lose work permits and deportation protections after Trump rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The Democrats say a deal has been reached, but the White House denies it. They embody the promise of America... of the American Dream...

Pelosi walked out after telling the group that it was clear they "don't want any answers", NBC's Bay Area affiliate reported.

Six immigrants brought to the United States as children sued the Trump administration on Monday over its decision to end DACA.

The lawsuit joins others filed over President Donald Trump's decision to end DACA, which has allowed almost 800,000 immigrants to obtain work permits and deportation protection since 2012.
