FSU QB Deondre Francois Reportedly out for Season with Leg Injury

Alabama's defense came up big when it counted Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Terrell Lewis (24) and defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick (29) react after a stop against the Florida State Seminoles in the second quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Alabama has a new home away from home.

Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois suffered a season-ending injury to his left knee in the fourth quarter of the Seminoles game against Alabama.

Saturday marked the first college game and the first sellout crowd in the $1.6 million facility spearheaded by Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and located across the street from the Georgia Dome.

Alabama now leads Florida State 10-7 near the end of the third quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, freshman Dylan Moses caused Keith Gavin to fumble, and Keith Holcombe recovered at the FSU 11. The play set up a 25-yard field goal from Pappanastos to put Alabama up 13-7 with 1:54 left in the third quarter. He was carted off to the locker room praying during the fourth quarter of the game and was seen with crutches and a knee brace on his left leg.

"We'll get the diagnosis, and I love him, and we'll figure out what we've got to do from here".

"As the game went on, I feel like we wore them down and were able to execute the way we wanted to". While Saturday night proved to be an up-and-down performance for the sophomore, Hurts did enough to help Alabama begin the season 1-0. Cosentino attempted nine passes last season. With Payne taking a starring role, Alabama allowed just 40 rushing yards (on 27 carries) to the Seminoles Saturday night.

Mueller obtained draft of letter Trump wrote explaining Comey firing
McGahn arranged for the president to meet in the Oval Office that day with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Mr. Mr Trump and his aides gave multiple justifications for Mr Comey's dismissal in the days after he was sacked .

In their first game without former offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, now Florida Atlantic's head coach, the Tide had fewer than 300 yards of total offense and passed for only 96.

It is the nature of the sport for the quarterbacks to get the majority of the attention, but for all the time the media spent on Francois and Alabama's fellow super sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts prior to (and during) the game, it was the Tide's duo of versatile defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick and run-stuffing defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne who easily made the biggest splashes from an National Football League draft perspective.

Harris broke free for a 34-yard carry on the game's first play from scrimmage to the Florida State 41-yard line, but the Tide came away empty on their opening possession when Pappanastos missed a 42-yard field-goal try.

Even after the loss, the Seminoles can certainly climb back into the CFP race, depending on Francois' health. A pass-interference penalty by Anthony Averett gave Florida State a first-and-10 at the Alabama 20-yard line with 20 seconds remaining in the half.

Florida State took its second drive 90 yards on 11 plays and grabbed a 7-3 lead on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Francois to Auden Tate at the 13:41 mark of the second quarter. Including a 53-yard touchdown in which he shook FSU true freshman cornerback Stanford Samuels III with a classic stutter step, before racing past him to haul in a flawless strike from Hurts.

"We played a great defense, so none of the offensive stats are going to be jaw-dropping", Harris said.
