Blind Snapper Olson Plays for USC

By age 12, he had to have both his eyes removed, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his athletic dreams.

USC long-snapper Jake Olson got a chance to prove you don't need to be able to see to play football.

Olson grew up a fan of the Trojans program and was present for many games, accompanying the team in the tunnel as a guest of the program during the Pete Carroll from time to time.

Following a Trojans touchdown that put Saturday's game against Western Michigan out of reach late in the fourth quarter, Olson came on and snapped for a successful extra point.

The death toll is expected to rise significantly once floodwaters recede in the coming days and weeks. "But it's heart-wrenching to think of her growing up without her mother".

The Trojans defeated Western Michigan, 49-31.

"I just have to continue to take steps forward until everyone is on board and some of those doubts that I know some coaches have are gone", he said. He hadn't played in a game until this season opener for the Trojans.

In a moment deemed "incredible" on social media, where it immediately trended, blind USC long snapper Jake Olson snapped a flawless extra point in his team's opener Saturday evening. "I love the game of football, I love the camaraderie that goes on within a team and just being out there and playing the great game". He joined the team with a scholarship for disabled athletes.

"It was very special, hearing my name being called over the P.A. system", Olson said.
