Bruce Springsteen Extends Broadway Run by 10 Weeks

The seasoned singer's solo show, entitled Springsteen on Broadway, has been extended another 10 weeks.

"Springsteen says he will be performing songs from his career, interspersed with readings from his best-selling memoir 'Born to Run.' Ticket demand is so high that Ticketmaster is using a system that requires people to apply for ticket purchases".

However, Ticketmaster cautions desperate fans not to cave in and fork over big bucks to scalpers, as they may not even have the tickets they claim to be selling. For the first round of Springsteen on Broadway tickets, Ticketmaster randomly sent Verified Fans text messages with codes just hours before tickets went on sale.

"I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible", Springsteen said when he announced his Broadway show.

The Tennessean reported on Thursday that a former state representative, Joe Carr, was considering a challenge to Corker next year. Green announced in early August that he did not intend to run against Corker in 2018 based on how "everything sits right now".

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale September 7.

Under the plan, recently embraced as well by Taylor Swift, fans need to sign up in advance for a code to buy tickets. Remaining registrants were placed on standby but should now be serviced by the extended run. The tickets, which ranged from $75 - $850 on Ticketmaster, sold out in a matter of minutes. He will perform five shows a week at the Walter Kerr Theatre, beginning October 3, with an official opening October 12.

Nonetheless, ticket resale sites on Wednesday were already offering seats to Springsteen shows on Broadway for thousands of dollars.

Previews for the show begin on October 3.
