Merrill Lynch predicts iPhone 8 delays running at least 3 weeks

According to Fast Company's sources, the 3D sensor isn't working "reliably".

Fast Company claims its Apple source is describing a "sense of panic" inside the company as team's rush to bring all the new technologies together. So rather than sell a redundant, inoperable charging station alongside the iPhone 8 at launch, Apple will delay the feature until it's ready.

Developers say the front of the new device will be all touch screen, matching a popular feature on competing smartphones.

All I'm saying is, they better get the wireless software right because some speculate this new iPhone will come with a hefty $1,200 price tag.

Apple are expected to be readying a big refresh of their iconic smartphone with the iPhone 8 to help mark the landmark 10th birthday of the iPhone.

Ways to Put Amazon Prime to Work for Your Business
Amazon had said that customer orders surpassed Prime Day 2015 by more than 60% worldwide and more than 50% in the United States. ET, new deals will roll out every five minutes for 30 hours (if you can't do the math, that's, like, a lot of deep deals).

Apparently, engineers and designers at Apple have been scrambling all summer to get the wireless charging software working properly. While Apple could achieve this over time, the likelihood for an initial lack of Apple Pay could adversely affect demand. That too has been a worry for Apple, and a potential cause of delays-not because of the quality of the hardware, but because of a scarcity of OLED manufacturing facilities around the world. The company has done this with features in the past such as Portrait mode on the iPhone 7 Plus.

The issue, as Hargreaves puts it, is that Apple continues to have problems with putting a fingerprint sensor in the screen of the next iPhone, which is presumed to be made of organic-light emitting diode (OLED) technology for the first time ever for an iPhone. According to Bloomberg, the new 3D sensor is part of a feature that will allow users to unlock their iPhone by scanning their face. The report even suggests Apple may rely on the 3D sensor for authentication in lieu of the familiar Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Fast Company's sources believes Apple could add Touch ID under the display.

Foxconn employees also confirmed that the iPhone 8 will somewhere between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in terms of size, although the new design will shave off some inches by removing the top and bottom bezels, and will feature a larger screen than the iPhone 7 Plus as a result (seen above). Samsung is the only company that can meet Apple's volume requirements, but a recent report said that only three to four million screens could be shipped in time for launch.

The smartphone, expected to launch this fall alongside an iPhone 7S and 7S Plus, comes in the tenth year of the line's existence, and Apple is putting out all the stops to fend off a challenge from its competitors.
